Is it just one of many? Stick to the respectable profile.
I've looked at a guy's profile and thought, it would be good if he didn't have these shirt less pics. With a couple music festivals coming up and reunion with some high school friends I'm putting in extra time in the gym. Our mission is to provide a place where all women can comfortably and candidly present their viewpoints for community discussion in a non-judgmental space.
I find neither the aesthetics nor the lifestyle behind them attractive. I got two messages and one of them was from someone who found the profile hilarious and wanted to get to know me.
I personally don't think a six pack is worth it. My guess would be that most of the women messaging you because of your shirtless pic are looking for something shallow and aren't great matches.
However, a shirtless pic took at the beach or somewhere else a guy would usually have his top off? It doesn't really change what messages get left, but at the same time I don't think online dating is really big in the city I live in.
So my response is usually: Looking like op will always get you matches, but the context of being at the beach is less likely to turn away girls that care about personality, and still appeals to girls that care about abs.
Toodaloo and losangelena like this. But I don't get many responses.
You might as well say 'is it safe to say men as a picture online dating are looking for superficial hookups? He won't look like that when he's older and his metabolism slows down.
